cold & flu regimen

cold & flu regimen

The winter often goes hand-in-hand with sickness, especially the dreaded cold and flu. After years of experimenting with supplements and remedies ourselves, we’ve developed these protocols with the intent of boosting the immune system and helping you return to good health as quickly as possible.

remedies

allimax:

One capsule of this pure garlic supplement is equivalent to 34 bulbs of garlic. It can be taken as a daily preventative or at the first signs of a cold or the flu.

local raw honey:

Take two teaspoons right off the spoon before bed to help soothe a sore throat.

hot water bottle:

We place this on our chest as much as possible throughout the day. The heat can help lower inflammation, soothe the chest, and loosen mucus.

evoo with essential oils:

This may just be one of our favorite remedies for opening up the airways, loosening mucus, and eliminating sputum. Take a drop or two of peppermint, eucalyptus, or wintergreen essential oil and mix it with a teaspoon of EVOO. Rub the mixture onto the chest, and smear a small amount just under the nostrils. Breathing this in will act as a natural antibiotic and help your body eliminate waste.

ginger tea:

This anti-inflammatory tea is another way to further encourage the breakup of mucus and its expulsion from the lungs. Thinly slice a three-inch piece of ginger root and a whole lemon. Add to a one-quart pot filled halfway with filtered water and bring it to a slow boil. Leave for 20–25 minutes at a low simmer, then strain and allow to cool to a comfortable sipping temperature. Add one teaspoon of local honey, if desired.

evoo shot

High-quality EVOO contains the polyphenol oleocanthal, which serves as a potent anti-inflammatory to the human body. To make an immunity boosting health-shot, combine a tablespoon of Zimms EVOO, a squeeze of lemon juice, a teaspoon of honey, a small amount of grated ginger, and consume as you would a shot. This mixture will instantly help boost the immune system and soothe the throat.
