Why David Loves BOXX
I met Altug, the co-founder of Boxx at another coffee shop in Los Angeles before they officially launched in the Arts District a few years ago. We both nerded out over our love for food. Boxx was founded as a roastery in Istanbul, Turkey, and luckily for me, they opened their first U.S. location in my neighborhood. I walk there a few times a week to enjoy their new coffees. Altug and I share a love for quality ingredients. Coffee and olive oil are actually very similar in determining quality. They focus on single origin beans from fair trade farms, and they have a variety of washed and natural beans that are constantly rotating in their shop and online store. They have a scientific and methodical take on coffee, and I think that’s why we get along so well. They really do coffee well, and I know that you’ll enjoy roasting some of their beans at home! The Biru Coffee is my favorite right now.
